Oliver Järvik (PhD) is a senior researcher at the Institute of Energy Technology of Tallinn University of Technology, the head of the Chemical Engineering Research and Development Center and the program manager of the bachelor's degree program in environmental, energy and chemical technology.

He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2011 on the application of an integrated biochemical and chemical oxidation process in the treatment of phenolic wastewater. Subsequently, he was involved in determining the thermodynamic properties of shale oils and developing determination methods.

In recent years, he has been closely involved in research in the field of oil shale thermal processing and projects covering environmental aspects of the oil shale industry (energy and oil production): oil shale ash hazard study, feasibility study of CCS / U technologies in the oil shale industry.
